I bought two PS4 controllers second hand (got it at a good price) and it appears only one works.

The one that does not work does not detect via Bluetooth on multiple devices. I've tried pressing the small reset button and using different usb's but nothing happens.

I want to see if there is anything I can do before sending it back to the seller.

Another noticeable thing is that when I plug it in, the charging light only blinks once before nothing happens.

The only positive sign is that it does power on but apart from that does not seem to work.

Is there anything I can do?

This might sound stupid but it did work for me.

Try a different micro USB cable.

A year ago one of my ps4 controllers wouldn't pair, until I tried a new cable. Made zero sense because.

Thanks, probably have to return it. Both also have the scroller drift issue.

The drift is 'normal' on most controllers out there. Some games have a sufficient dead zone that you don't notice it with. Others will produce the issue. Some say a good cleaning can work but if it's not too bad you can live with it.

Did you get a V1 or V2 controller? V1 has a shiny area surrounding the D-pad and action buttons. V2 has a matte plastic finish here, and a horizontal area on the touchpad where the status LED shines through.
