Anyone know which local retail shops stock ps4 databanks?
The 500Gig PS4 fills up so quick.
Just use a normal external HDD.
My old PS3 HDD crashed. I left it for months thinking damn it's going to cost a lot to replace the HDD at a repairer. The laaitie kept whining and I though let me google and see if I can replace it myself. You will be amazed how easy it is, Sony even allows it to be done the HDD comes out pretty easy. I used a spare 2.5" HDD I had and 1 hour later it was sorted.
Getting the OS on the HDD took the most time because I was trying short-cuts instead of just following the guide. Seriously can be done in under 30 minutes and all you need is a Philips screwdriver and a USB flash drive and a HDD of your choice.
The PS4 will also finally support the option to plug in an external hard drive for extra storage, a feature that was originally announced last month.
I won't be amazed how easy it is![]()
I bought a 40GB PS3 and installed a 320GB HDD ages ago.
The reason I'm recommending the external HDD is this:
PS4 gets external hard drive support
I have the slim version and not planning to upgrade.
Incase it's unclear, the databank is to install a 3.5" hdd which is alot cheaper per gigabyte than 2.5" drives.
As my ps4 is out of warranty i'm thinking of drilling a hole in the lid and attaching a home made "databank" to it. I have a brick psu with a molex connector so external power is not an issue.
On the other hand i might just buy a 2tb 2.5" drive and pop it in, i doubt i'll fill up 2tb with games i plan to replay.
A 500GB WD Blue 3.5" is R799 and a 2.5" is R699.
I don't get why you want to drill holes in your Playstation, you can literally buy any 3.5" or 2.5" external drive and just plug it into one of the USB ports, you can even take a drive you already have and just buy an external enclosure for it.
