Hi there

Is anyone else having disconnect errors while playing destiny?

I can't even complete the startup mission.

I have a consistent ping on google DNS 8.8.8.8 with about 200ms but I just get disconnected while playing.

Does anyone have this working and what network access do you have?

4Mb Mweb Uncapped and apart from a few hiccups in the first week after launch its been rock solid.

Almost finished the game now.

You have port forwarding setup?

I have port forwarding setup and Amobia have "torched" the traffic, which just means prioritized the traffic.

I used to just get BEE errors, now I get lion, centipede etc

It basically means I cant play for more than 2 mins, and cannot progress past the second mission.

Not sure if its Bungie poor net code, PSN network in South Africa or Amobia's network.

Makes me want to give up on the whole "console playing online" thing.

Very disappointing

That would be my bet.

Aren't they a wireless only provider?

My sister uses a Wireless provider and we have endless issues with her Xbox Live connectivity mostly because they NAT a huge number of end-users behind a single WAN IP address which makes a mess of port forwarding from the ISP down to the Customer.

Torching doesn't necessarily mean prioritising it. It's just a means of monitoring selected traffic.

If they torched the traffic and used those words specifically it tells me your setup is much the same where they have a number of users sharing a single WAN connection linked up though a Mikrotik in a local networking fashion.

You have taught me new things, thanks

I will confirm this with them.

So it turns out you are right, Amobia does NAT their broadband clients.

But I am not sure how that limits my connection or how they could do that differently

Are you not using NAT on a DSL router anyway?

Is it the NAT that's the problem or the sharing of so many users behind a single NAT?

After chatting to a techie at Amobia yesterday again about the issue, he said he gave all the traffic from my PS4 highpro and when I got home last night I was able to play for 3 hours with no disconnections.

Since there has been no client side patches for the PS4 or Destiny I assume the fix was due to his change?

So I will continue to test it this week.

I have been advised about another company called BitCo, I have asked them for a quote to see what they can offer as well.
