PS4 global price comparison

from what I can see, the US price doesn't include a controller, need to add another USD59 to be comparable to some others.
 
Good deal? no!!! From previous gen to current gen, they haven't upped the tech/hardware enough. Just a little increment to keep consumers by the balls. PC hardware is leap years ahead.
I had both PC and XBox 360. Only bought 360 because of a friend, had good times on it, yeah. But I think, this time, I'll stay on my PC.

They could've build a monster of a console for that price.....but then they would've lost on revenue....

EDIT: Build myself a new gaming PC earlier this year, under R6000. I had a screen, so didn't buy that. 8 core AMD CPU, R9 AMD GPU, 16GB ram

Sony lost profit for lowering the price of the ps3 just in order to get the sales higher than the xbox 360. And to think that ps3 was already a piece of crap (even back then). Current(yea, that's a joke) and previous gen have and will always struggle to keep up with PC sales and technology. But then again, a console fanboy will give their lives for a consoles.
 
Don't forget that the US has state tax which is not shown on the price.

Gamers in Brazil (and around the world) were more than a little frustrated to learn about the exorbitant, $1,800 USD+ price tag that the Playstation 4 will carry in Brazil and, apparently, they weren’t the only ones. Sony Sony itself has weighed in on the subject, and provided a detailed graph about exactly where that cost is coming from. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the price comes from a cocktail of import and other taxes. According to Sony, this whole arrangement is bad for Playstation, and bad for gamers:

““We want to emphasize that it isn’t in the interest of Sony Computer Entertainment America to sell PS4 units at this high retail price, as it’s not good for our gamers and it’s not good for the PlayStation brand. We have always maintained an open and honest dialogue with PlayStation Nation in Brazil, we want to be fully transparent as to what makes up this price, so gamers can be fully informed and make their own conclusion.”

One could just get the PS4 off Amazon and get it shipped here, works out cheaper. I was lucky enough to have someone bring it in for me so shipping/ duty was $0
 
Here in Japan it's 40000 which is roughly about R4200 including taxes with the camera think it's a extra R300, but a vita is pretty much the same price as sa except it's the slim version... Ps TV is dirt cheap at R900

Japan must be the cheapest as the USA prices don't include state taxe.....
