Hey guys,

I have a 6 Mbps line and when I do a connection test on my PS3 I get 5.3 download but on ps4 I get anywhere between 0.05 to 0.8 download. Why? Surely the ps4 has a better network card or whatever it's called. This is disappointing as I just upgraded my internet so I could have faster download speeds for Black Ops 3 as its 55 Gb.

Anybody have a fix?

Also my DNS is already 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Wireless or Wired?

Also 8.8.8.8 isn't going to help you much if your ISP isn't caching it locally. So check what your latency is to that address when you ping it.

Generally DNS shouldn't make any difference to actual speeds though.

Quite possibly you have an underlying NAT issue that might be speed limiting you. Easiest way around that would be to reserve the IP address of the PS4 on your Router and then add that IP to the DMZ so it completely avoids NAT and Firewalling. It's a closed device so no reason to protect it like your PC.

Also have a problem with my ps4 too. it also is slow and sometimes keeps disconnecting because of bad signal reception. my xbox one has no problems because i found out it has dual band wifi or something, i don't think there's any solution other than connecting to your adsl cable.

Are you using an MWEB FON Router by any chance?

I have a couple of questions.

Firstly, how can I find my PS4's IP address and secondly how do I add it to the DMZ...

Also I'm on wireless. I can't really run wires from my router around my house to my PS4

I generally just leave my PS4 to download updates overnight/while I'm at work but when I had a PS3 I used to use a proxy app to capture the link for the update and then use a download manager to download the file a lot quicker, the app then used the local mirror to install. Not sure if this is still possible (was about 6 years ago)

Try pause and restart the DL a couple times. Works for me when DL is occasionally super slow.
