Mornings!

So I moved into a place where having a PC is just not an option (space) and a decent laptop will just not make financial sense right now.

I like to play games, but I've never played on a Console since PS1 :o

How well do PS4 game rate vs PC wrt accuracy in FPS/Mobas (SMITE)?

Would a PS4 be worth it? :p I'm too scared to take the leap.

Consoles are a lot more accurate in FPS games since they help aim for you. Much less skill needed.

I play on PC and PS4.
SOME PS4 games have aim assist, or some sort of lock on button. GTA and the other rockstar games have lock on. These games work well with a controller, and I enjoy them like that.

Others, like Uncharted series and The Last of Us, do not. I enjoy these games in spite of the crappy hamstrung input method. If I could play them on PC, there's no way I would play them on console.

I don't think I have played a game with aim assist on console, and I don't think I ever will.

What you need to do, is connect your PC to your TV, and get a tray or something and a wireless mouse & KB so that you can play PC games from the couch.
You should still get the PS4 though. PC and PS4 exclusives complement each other quite well.

Thanks man. Good input.

FYI, Uncharted 4 has assist. It's still not nearly as good as it would have been on PC though.
Now all that happens is that you press aim and shoot and the enemies die. It's not exactly what I'd call fun (as compared to e.g. Doom on PC)

Sitting on the couch with a tray on your lap for your KB + mouse doesn't exactly sound fun either.

I play with aim assist off and it's fine once you get used to it. You just have to use the centre of the screen as a general reference point before you aim...

I created a lap desk a while back where the tray has legs that rest on the couch itself. However, it is still a crappy way to play games.

Still not sure how a PC can't fit in the apartment.... maybe he is referring to a PC desk that will take up too much space but then we need pics of where it needs to be so that we can come up with suggestions.

:wtf: Put the PC behinf the TV in the living room and get a Steam controler or XBOX controller........how much space do you need? Or do you have one of those custom cases that needs a dedicated server room?
Or maybe the bonus is itching?

I used to do this in the past, sit in the lazy boy, keyboard on the lap and the mouse on the arm rest (lekker huge arm rest, luckily). Also, with the steam UI, it'll feel like a console.

I'd rather just get a PS4 than use a controller for an FPS on PC.

If I didn't have the second bedroom/study, and would have to put the desk in the small living room or main bedroom, I would also think my place too small for a PC. I would still do it though :D

The lap gaming is definitely not ideal, and I have never played like that. I would however rather do that than only ever play with a controller again.
Maybe a fold up desk you can use for the mouse and KB, then stash away when not using it?
