PS5

I'm not surprised the PS5 sold over 6 million units. I love mine; best console I have used (Been a long time Xbox fan)

I think Sony played their cards very well, consider that there is still a rumoured big showcase coming (haven't been one since 2021 I think), along with system sellers like Spider-Man 2 probably dropping later this year (first one sold around 25mil copies), PS5 sales are going to reach astronomical levels looks like

Don't forget Final Fantasy 16, Sony gonna have an epic year!

My wife will be all over that. She's busy playing FF7 - Remake at the moment.

Hehe, I'm also playing that at the moment. It's my first FF game and wasn't sure at the beginning (it's very goofy at times), but now 20hrs in and I'm loving it. I'll 100% buy FF16

She's been a FF fan for the longest time; played the originals too. So she knows the whole story line for 7. It's not my sort of game - but it looks great!

Koodoo is having a sale on accessories if anyone is interested, finally picked up another controller at R1299, which is kinda sad because I think they used to be R1099 without sale when they released :s

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered Finally Gets Standalone Release on PS5

Alongside announcing a prequel comic book for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games has confirmed that it's finally making Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered available for individual purchase.

Previously only available on PC, or via special editions of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the PS5 remaster of Spidey's first outing will soon be up for sale as a standalone product. It's coming "later this month", when it'll be available for $49.99.

If you bought the PS4 release of Marvel's Spider-Man, you'll be eligible for the upgrade path; this means you'll only pay $10 to access the remaster instead of $50. Better than a kick in the teeth, innit? Unfortunately, if you claimed the game via PS Plus, you won't be able to take advantage of the offer.

Still, it's great that Spidey Remastered can now be accessed standalone. It was always a little weird that you couldn't buy it individually, wasn't it? Better late than never — and with the sequel coming later this year, now's not a bad time for a replay.

No they weren't. DualSense was just under R1500 at launch.

Not a chance, they were R1299 (not 1099 as previously said) if my memory serves.

Actually, you might be right. Seems like they were R1499 oO

Anyway, point stands they are on sale now

Sources: A big PlayStation Showcase is weeks away

Sony will reportedly showcase its upcoming games ahead of Summer Game Fest

According to people with knowledge of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s plans, the next big PlayStation Showcase could take place at the end of this month, or in early June, ahead of other big events planned for next month, including Summer Game Fest.

These claims are corroborated by Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, who wrote on Monday that he believed the PlayStation event could take place during the week of May 25.

If these claims are accurate, a PlayStation event would kick off several weeks of major video game showcases, which are taking place in the absence of the cancelled E3 2023 show.

Summer Game Fest, which is billed as the “global fan celebration of what’s next in video games”, will return for its fourth year with a live kick-off show on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Promising world premieres, live gameplay demos and announcements, the show will take place in front of a live audience at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California.

Most likely also announcing the PS5 Pro, it's in development already

Personally I doubt it, that will be a showcase in its own. Everything points to this one being about games etc. maybe the handheld announcement?

There are some interesting rumours floating around, an MGS3 remake and apparently Bluepoint working on a new Castlevania game. Either way, excited to see what they are working on

Gamepass PRO.

I feel odd having being on the “other side” and sometimes feel the urge to defend MS and Xbox here - I’ve had them all up to the older Xbox one s.

But ever since playing the PS5 and looking at how MS responded to it….

Let me point and laugh at MS.

I feel like I just have to mention how good the haptics are on Gran Turismo 7.

I know other games have pushed the envelope with how the triggers respond (pulling back a bow in Forbidden West, for example) but the actual haptics in the DualSense along with the resistive triggers for brake and throttle is just really well done.

It makes for quite an immersive experience and I can only imagine what it must feel like in VR when you have the added haptics in the headset as well.

One of the Japan tracks stood out to me the other day when I was playing. As you drive over the undulations where the road pieces are joined, it really feels like you are driving over a bridge with expansion gaps that give the controller a firm shake as your wheels traverse it. Then they added smaller effects such as minute taps when there is rainfall on your windscreen, and the left and right haptic motors kicking on when your left and right wheels go off the road surface.

Suffice it to say I am putting a lot of hours into it this month :)

You should try with a direct drive wheel and pedals. Whole new experience.
