Really enjoying this game. Something very different. Not sure yet why there are machines to begin with. But I’m two days away now from the proving.

Will play some more tomorrow.
 
Played some more Zero Dawn today. I’m really enjoying it! Can’t wait to get to play West, with what I assume will be better graphics

I notice there are some glitches and bugs in zero dawn but nothing too serious.

I still want to know why there are machines and who put them there. Just finished the proving now and I suspect all will be revealed.

Wait until you get into the meat of the game. You'll be putting in 3+ hours at a time and it will feel like 5 minutes has gone past. The attention to detail and the world-building is excellent. I envy you playing it for the first time.

Yeah, it basically never gets boring.

I’m level 60 in Forbidden West, 4th to last “chapter”, 77 hours….

I have a week off from the 23rd - will be putting a lot of house into Zero Dawn I think. Really enjoying the game. The story is great and I wondered if there is a movie or TV series around it? Seems like it would be a good candidate for it

I hear you with the first time playing thing; if I could forget all about RDR2 and play it "fresh" again I would.

I get the feeling I have not even scratched the surface of this game yet - I am at the point now where Aloy wakes up and her focus is missing.

Anyone given the Lies of P demo a go?

I found it pretty good so far. Got some Bloodborne vibes to it, but needs some tweaks to dodge controls.
 
I really, really enjoyed Zero Dawn and Frozen Wilds, but I battled to get into Forbidden West - I think I got around 50% of the way there and uninstalled the game. Might give it another shot when I've finished my 2nd playthrough of Rift Apart and grow bored of GT7.

Frozen wilds was included in the zero dawn I got I think. Well, that’s what it says on the menus screen anyway
 
Okay uhh that demo was so good, very dark and mature themes, it's sort of like playing Game of Thrones I guess? Performance wise it ran pretty good though I did notice a few drops, mostly while just running around. During combat the performance was great and the combat felt awesome, guess this is a must buy for me then.

The PS5 Pro can't come soon enough, we're already at 1440p/30 and can't even maintain 1080p/60

- PS5 Quality Mode: 2160p/30fps (upscaled from 1440p)
- PS5 Performance Mode: 1440p/60fps (upscaled from 1080p)

- Performance mode has some problems to keep the 60fps stable. In times of stress, it can drop to 40fps.
- The cinematics are locked at 30fps in both viewing modes.

- With the release of the final game you will have a more in-depth and updated comparison

Performance is a bit rough but not that bad honestly. I played it twice, once in perf and once in quality mode. Quality mode seems better but maybe because of the PS5 VRR implementation in perf mode.

This is also a demo and an older build to what they showed at the SoP, either way, it plays really well and I loved it.

PS5 Pro is a seriously long way off, as is anything beyond the Series X. Both consoles are on fire atm and hitting their stride.

Also, I’d question whether PS5 is the culprit. There are games like Forbidden West that look jaw-dropping at 60 fps. Devs need to do a better job if their games run like crap on PS5 or Series X.

Yeah, I would not be so quick to blame the console - when a lot of other games are doing 60 fps just fine.
 
I think MyBB should do a "blindfold" test on all these members who claim they can see screen Mhz and FPS differences etc with their naked eye.

Get them all together with different screens and different platforms (hidden from view) running at different optimizations and speeds, and then get them to rate what they believe the performance to be - without the help of any software rating mechanisms.

I believe the results would be interesting.
