PS5

Very nice. The PS5 Pro is going to be a decent next next gen console but damn I don't think anyone is ready for the R20k + price tag.

Clearly Koodoo delaying the preorders is all to find the cheapest shipping route and order at a lower exchange rate so it comes in at R17999

I can dream, right?

I wouldnt call it next-gen. I think the term is mid-gen bump...? Pedantic, I know.

I would not even call PS6/Next XB next gen (I've seen the future - and it's not good). Now SNES to N64 and PS1 to PS2 And GC to Wii... now that was next gen. Btw nothing wrong with even 'minor' leaps in tech for nextgen, as long as we don't pay major prices.

Very Sceptical about VR/Augmented reality. I can't see where else gaming can go. Except maybe crash or extinct...? Anyhow the games is where its at, and Sony's remasters, no matter how long the list, does not engender confidence for the future. Hopefully they can start churning out PS2 sized AA games, launch new and experimental IPs, etc all at affordable costs.

The SA tax makes it worse. I'll sell my PS5 and get back at least some money that goes towards the pro. So I should pay around £400 (or R9200) and for a decent mid-gen upgrade for the next 4 years, that's not too bad imo.

Again, I'm well aware I don't need a pro, but I was sort of set on buying a mid range PC next year, which would've been a bigger waste of money as it will only be used for gaming and nothing else. Thanks to GFN I've negated that need and I can get a 4080 rig for £20 pm, so I can play my Steam games through that.

I am sticking with my PS5 for now. Loving the games that I have played on it so far, except FF16 which is big bummer for me, but I do feel like its bit lacklustre compare to what we got on the PS4 generation. So the money I would have spend on getting the Pro will go to nice PC upgrade just waiting on the new AMD CPU's and the new Nvidia GPU's.

And also switch 2 is around the corner, might be interesting!

Plus all the juicy remasters/remakes coming, Infamous will be a certified banger.

It is. A couple of years ago I bought a gaming PC to see what the fuss is about, and I could never get used to the gaming experience on PC. I only use it now to play Hearthstone, which I can also do on my mobile devices, making it a bigger waste. But I need to get my money's worth somehow...

did we get the PS4 anniversary one here?
Yep we did. I have one (although I bought mine recently off Carb).

I really do hope we at least get a few thrown our way, although I'll still be getting the regular Pro and any other 30th Ann. stuff that becomes available.
