Mine changed the very early hours this morning to:

I placed my order 1 November, was never cancelled, but there was no progress for a long time. Hopefully it means stock has been received and distributed now. I am holding thumbs yours is also updating today.
Hopefully that is the case, however we've been fooled before ;)

Hope you importers don't ever need a warranty claim. (Speaking 1st hand)

Partserv do not accept warranty claims for imports.
If you have a problem you gonna have to send it back to UK or pay for repairs.

Ster Kinekor (Koodoo) is the official agent for selling PlayStation in SA and they deal with Partserv for warranty claims.
Sony aint gonna help you.

It goes back to Amazon directly for warranty.

Yeah I had to pay for mine as I booked a claim on Sony site and took it to Partserv as per the site.
Partserv was the ones that told me to send it back to NZ for the claim or pay for repairs. I opted to pay as I did not feel like dealing with the hassle or sitting months without a console.

I have two other PS5s already so I won't mind waiting 😄

Koodoo didn’t have it ready by the 1st before lunch, so they were slow to get it up. I was eager to buy it in case of a stock shortage, like what happened with the PS5 itself.

Getting it cheaper is a nice bonus. It makes the R2k “grudge buy” for the disc drive feel less grudging, especially since I already have quite a few PS5 games on disc.

That said, all of this is moot until I actually get it. If it’s available locally in-store and Amazon still doesn’t deliver, no harm done, I’ll just buy it from 1 of the local online sites and complain about the unnecessary extras for the so-called “flagship” model.

I'm also not in a hurry to get it, the R2500 price difference is substantial enough to be patient. If Amazon fails a second time I'll probably be forced to get it locally, begrudgingly. But I'll wait until it's actually out here first, not going to pre-order it from Koodoo.

Lucky. I have to wait till the 13th of December. Typical in South Africa, don't know why we have such as massive delay.

FYI for anyone looking to get the Pro.

Not sure if posted before but with Nedbank Greenbacks you could get R1.8k saving from their Avo shop, don't think it's a Black Friday deal either. And it's local versus importing (which from what I read here could make a difference should something go wrong)

Just picked up my Black Friday special:

R3000 for Hall Effect and asymmetric sticks, sign me up.

Note for those interested: it does not have Vibrate on PS5

Who still uses Nedbank though?

Just an update: It has cleared customs and is on the DHL status: Out for Delivery.
Nice!

Mine has also managed to leave the UK this time, it went to Germany first and now it's in Dubai - I assume it will ship out to Joburg from there.

Mine is sitting in Heathrow still.

I did notice that tracking via DHL gives more update info than the Amazon page.
