PS5

Anyone managed to locate stock outside of the initial preorders available locally?
Check your local Makro. They might have stock on the 19th if the lady of the phone was not selling me dreams.

I hope there are day one units in store. Also trying to get my hands on one and the preorder sold out so quickly that I missed it.

Ja I'm not normally an early adopter and so didn't bother with the pre-orders but I might be regretting it now.
We'll see, not a train smash if I only get one next year but will admit to having a small case of the FOMOs now.

let the others encounter the problems and then wait for the revised model ;)

There's always a revised model on the horizon.
Like I said I'm not overly fussed, but I am a little jealous of those getting theirs in the next couple weeks or so.
I also wanted to wait till next year but itching now for one. Won't over pay for day one though. Hopefully Marko has a few lying around on day one. If not, December/2021 it will have to be.

Got next week Thursday and Friday off, so I’m gonna be streaming Spider-Man: Miles Morales to completion and then starting with Demon’s Souls after on release. If anyone is keen, you can find my channel here:

Sony Addresses Lack Of PS5 1440p Support, But Hints It May Be Added In The Future

Sony’s senior vice president of platform planning and management Hideaki Nishino, has addressed the lack of PS5 1440p support in the new console, stating it’s about prioritising support for TVs more than anything else.

PS5 1440p Addressed By Sony

Speaking during a recent interview in Japan, Nishino-san acknowledged interest in having 1440p support for PS5, and suggested that it may yet be added if there’s enough requests.

Here’s a brief snippet of the interview:

The current PS5 does not support 1440p output, but this is based on the idea that “our priority is to support TVs” (Mr. Nishino). If there are a lot of requests for this, they will be able to support it at …… while keeping an eye on market trends.

The Last of Us Part 2 and God of War Reportedly Support DualSense Haptic Feedback And Adaptive Triggers

God of War and The Last of Us Part 2 will reportedly have next-gen Dualsense features available for new PS5 owners when the console launches. From their own testing, GamesRadar can confirm that the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers within the DualSense are already being taken advantage of for both games.

The difference can apparently immediately be felt between gameplay on the Dualshock 4 versus the new Dualsense. You can feel the tension as you pull the drawstring of your bow back in The Last of Us Part 2 and the haptic feedback lets you really feel the shockwave from each shot fired. For anyone who has played The Last of Us Part 2, they will already know just how gritty the combat already is and how intense each moment is in every fight. The Dualsense features creating another layer of immersion to the game alone make it worth another playthrough on PS5.

Haptic feedback is also well implemented in God of War, with each throw of the Leviathan Axe or every time Kratos raises his shield. Throwing the axe and calling it back already felt incredible, so it’s extremely exciting to know that it’ll feel even better on PS5. We checked out God of War running on PS5 backwards compatibility and you can read our impressions here.

I've emailed Makro customer support regarding this and got this response:

"Thank you for your email.

Regrettably, we will only receive stock for PlayStation 5 Digital Edition consoles in early December.

Only pre-orders will be sourced on the launch date.

Kind Regards,
Makro Team"

Still a month to go for expected delivery (tracking order via website) for a pre-order even. Maybe just hasn't been updated. Does make one wonder about pre-orders and therefore additional stock though since retailers are dependant on supplier. While waiting for pre-orders is not the end of the world (especially given logistical constraints caused by pandemic), I suspect this means additional stock could be unlikely in short term.
