PS5

Can't find Dead Space physical copies anywhere. Dude at Game4U says they still waiting on the supplier but so far, nothing.

because I got GoW: Ragnarok to trade and will probably trade DS for RE4 Remake in a few months but it looks like digital is the only option right now. I had a plan . . .

I almost return to my favourite games at some point for a replay, or once DLC has been released. Can't imagine flogging them off like that. Just wait for a digital sale and you'll save at least as much as the difference between new physical copies and what you save via trading.

Surprisingly the digital copy is cheaper than the physical one, R1099 compared to R1399.

That's the only side of owning physical games that would appeal to me. In my case my gamer friends are in other cities and countries so I don't care, but fair enough, being able to lend games is cool.

A disk has never entered mine and probably never will. If it was available at the time, I'd have gone with the digital edition.

Although I'm sure I've read more than once that Sony is working on a standalone optical drive for the PS5. You might be able to grab that down the line.

Makes sense - a digital copy is substantially cheaper to distribute.

Personally, I like to know that once I buy a game that it has permanently entered my collection. The only time I ever traded or sold games was in the PS3 era, and I frequently regretted doing so. With PS4 I hung on to everything and bought most games digital.

Just checked and yeah, Koodoo typically has brand new stuff for R50-100 cheaper. I preordered Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition digitally for R1,399. Koodoo has a physical copy for R1,349. Seems to be similar for Jedi Survivor, Atomic Heart etc.

But, there are frequently awesome sales on the PS Store. Besides the rare game that I'll preorder at full price, I'm generally saving boatloads from sales. From my limited experience, big discounts with physical copies aren't nearly as common.
 
It would have been so cool if Hogwarts Legacy had co-op play. Looking for a casual game to co-op with a few friends and this would have been great :crying:

Sure I didn’t mean he has to necessarily do it himself.

I’m just saying it’s very repairable and doesn’t need a new controller as the solution.
 

PS5 loses key PlayStation Plus benefit unless you act fast​

The PS Plus Collection is going away in May, so download those games fast!

The PlayStation Plus Collection is being removed from the service in May 2023, leaving PS5 users only two months to download the included-games before they’re no longer available free of charge.

This news comes alongside the PlayStation Plus monthly games list for free, a sudden and unexpected revelation for those out there who have yet to redeem those titles. More importantly, it’ll remove an otherwise brilliant perk to the console for new owners.

It’s not the end of the world though. If you’re already the proud owner of a PS5, you can quickly claim them now, which will keep them available to download past May and for as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription. That being said, if you don’t currently have a PS5 and are planning on doing so in the near future, it’s a good idea to do so with haste before a hefty collection of quality titles are no longer free to download alongside your sub.

The full list of games includes in the PS Plus Collection are as follows:

  • Bloodborne
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us: Remastered

Nowadays though, there are a good number of spotlight titles, as well as ports that are significantly better here than on previous gen consoles.

Either way, get a hustle on PS5 users! Download the collection while you can!
