Exactly that. A surge probably fried Kabals console. Hopefully it’s the psu and not the mainboard because that can be fixed on the cheap.

Pro tip: have your electrician fit a surge protector on your main db board. Prevents a lot of trouble on all electrical appliances.

Battery life is manageable unless you play 6 hours plus at a time in any case it does come with a long braided charging cable so it shouldn't be an issue if that is your main concern. I would recommend the controller on customizability alone regardless of what games you playing. There is a small learning curve mapping the profiles, adaptive triggers, and back paddles but once you get a hang of it it's really one of the best controllers for the console.

So apparently the drm on disc drives doesn’t prevent it from swapping which is pretty awesome.

They have a variety of products, browse and find out.
That one is rated for washing machines and so on so should be able to take multiple low-draw devices but don't take my word for it. Nice thing about those is that they will refund your device if it breaks due to a surge.

My house burns down I get a new console and all is back to normal.

Just saying damage comes in many forms.

Especially with kids around digital is the way.

The one physical disc I do have is or rather was Skylanders. It no longer works because somehow children.

Which doesn’t make sense even as they are very good with looking after things and never damaged a controller or anything else.

My entire life is fully digital now and I couldn’t be happier for it, especially when travelling as everything is with me at all times.

Wasn't 100% you were being serious about the house fire thing.

If you did lose your console in a fire or some other similar accident, you'd be insured (hopefully). Which means you can buy a new console, and the games.

Sure but they very rarely pay out what you put in for games. (Been there done that) and also there’s a chance you can’t find them physically any more.

Not to mention as a hardcore gamer it’s a huge pain in the ass to prove you had hundreds of physical games and three consoles.

If anything a huge insurance claim is actually what pushed me over the edge to going fully digital.

Either way the point is that digital makes loss impossible, whether by fire, damage or theft…and you have it with you at all times.

Also there’s the sharing factor, most of my digital stuff shares with my entire family and that which doesn’t is split across two consoles…can’t do that with a physical copy.

It actually sucks Microsoft ****ed up their Xbox One launch presentation so badly and then Sony mangled it to death with counter marketing because they were way ahead of their time and it would have been much better for it today.

Another pro for digital. I can just switch to a new game without getting up and swapping discs around.

For me that outweighs and perceived “negatives” about digital (spoiler there aren’t any)

I have the disk version and my bro and I take turns in buying games on PS5 as we both aren’t heavy gamers.

So my 2cents. I still like the disk version.

Luckily we both like the same genre so it’s easy.
