PS5

Some advice from the forumites please. Leaning more and more towards keeping the PS5 console I picked up for a bargain during BF.

I haven't been on a Playstation since the very 1st one - yeah, I know I'm getting old. Been on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One since (I preferred the controller).

Since I haven't been on team Playstation for so long, what games would you recommend I try out?
Specifically, Playstation exclusives that I might not know about?
I'm not a fan of racing games, although I do have fond memories of Gran Tourismo.

Sign up to PS+ Deluxe and start with the 2 Uncharted collections. Then TLOU, God of War and the Horizon games. All are included in the sub and a great way to get back into it...

Thanks for the advice. A 24 months PS+ Deluxe subscription was included in my purchase, so it seems I won't have to spend money on games for the foreseeable future.

If you prefer the XBOX controller, get yourself a Nacon REVOLUTION 5 PRO controller. SSOOOOO worth it :)

Thanks, sounds good. Any personal experience?
I'm not a sound junkie, just need something reliable and half decent to ensure I don't keep the missus awake when gaming a little late.

Bloodborne. Many people specifically bought this game for their consoles to the extent they call their playstations a Bloodborne machine. Get the GOTY edition if you can, as it includes an amazing DLC

What is PlayStation Link? Sony’s new wireless audio tech explained

What is PlayStation Link: Audio on your PlayStation is about to get better thanks a new headset, new earbuds and a piece of software wizardry in the middle.

Along with announcing the new PlayStation Portal handheld device for PS5 Remote Play, Sony also debuted the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore true wireless earbuds, which will soon go on sale.

Key to the new audio hardware and its ability to connect with PlayStation Portal handheld is a new wireless audio technology Sony calls PlayStation Link.

It is designed with low latency in mind, to support lossless audio and make it easier to switch between a number of devices – i.e. the PlayStation Portal and PS5. That sounds similar to the way Apple achieves seamless device switching between iPhone, Mac, Apple TV, etc., when using the AirPods.

Microsoft Still Wants to Put Xbox Game Pass on PS5, PS4

Xbox Series X|S maker Microsoft has once again expressed a desire to release its membership service Game Pass on to PS5, PS4, allowing first-party titles like Starfield and Forza Motorsport to become available to a wider audience. Xbox CFO Tim Stuart made the comments during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, stating it to be a "bit of a change of strategy".

His full quote reads: "Not announcing anything broadly here, but our mission is to bring our first-party experiences [and] our subscription services to every screen that can play games. That means smart TVs, that means mobile devices, that means what we would have thought of as competitors in the past like PlayStation and Nintendo."

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has spoken in the past of wanting to get Game Pass onto more gaming systems, but "the other competitive platforms really aren't interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware," he said in 2020. Should something like this ever happen, it would allow Microsoft's first-party line-up to be played on a PS5, according to Tim Stuart's most recent comments. For the future, that includes the likes of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Avowed, The Elder Scrolls VI, and Clockwork Revolution.
