Any of the "Saver" Plans are Hospital Plans + Savings - they are not really Medical Aids in a traditional sense. It is just a Hopsital Plan with a Savings Portion.
And that Savings Portion you are paying for monthly, if you compare a hospital plan vs a saver hospital plan of the same name, they are just taking the savings per annum and adding that to your premium each month. There is no value to be had here.
Maybe you guys knew this, but I did not. They are advertised as Medical Aids if you compare them using their comparison tool.
I've learned that there are three types now, hospital, traditional and capitation. Capitation are all the income based ones, but generally if you earn more than 15k you are automatically placed into the highest tier and will pay close to what traditional costs anyways.
Either way you are farked pretty much, unless you have some form of co-payment from your employer.
