Jeez you guys are a bunch of babies. It'll be back. Don't worry.
FBI has issued 40 arrest warrants for Anon members
Good, hang the feckers!
We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
LOL, its not because of them that Sony took PSN offline, read here:

BTW, Anonymous also released a youtube vid that they aren't the ones responsible for PSN being down at the moment. I'll post the vid as soon as I can find the link again.
Typical - everyone blaming the hackers. Its Sony's incompetence that its still down. It looks like they are redesigning PSN.
First is was down for maintenance, next day it was down due to hackers, now its down for a rebuild and additional security. :wtf:
If you know anything about IT you would know there is a reason for it and all three the points you mentioned goes hand in hand. It's not like Sony can just update the antivirus or security system from over the net? There is a good reason for the outing and all we can do is hope it will be back sooner than later. I also hope that we will soon learn about a lot of criminals (hackers) sued and penalized.
There's no reason for it to be off for 4 days. If its a new design they are putting in it would have been fully tested in a development environment. It should then be fairly quick to implement into a production system. They should have run the new system in parallel and when ready switched over - downtime a few hours.

PSN is such a puny little network compared to Steam. It's a slow outdated platform. I won't be buying the next Playstation. This one has just has so much **** it's not worth it. Microsoft know how to handle the gaming community.
Going on 5 days now, which is a complete joke. I'm guessing they took PSN down without having an alternate solution, and are now formulating a security plan while we wait. The updates they post prove that they don't know what they're doing. Theres just no reason for a network to be down this long, unless the hackers have stolen tons of information such as credit card details etc etc. The other thing is that Sony could be replacing everything for whatever reason; completely rebuilding the network. On an Easter weekend, tons of their employees will be on vacation. Only a few staff on standby, so they could be doing zilch right not. Major PR hit for Sony. All their fault though, going after everyone and trying to sue everyone. I was with Sony going for the Hackers, but it seems its backfired badly.
Then in the mean time the thieves still carry on. We all know Anon got hold of the GeoHot information, so did many other internet scum and freaks (hackers), who knows what they were able to do using that information. Thus if you are such an exspert why not offer your services to Sony or enlighten us why Sony took such drastic action to prevent what kind of insecurity and further theft.
