PSN regions?

When signing up do we have to take South africa or can we choose uk.

Im asking this because generally overseas has better specials than us in South africa (im coming from the old Xbox Gold on 360 age thats why im asking)

SA falls under the EU region afik, but some services like Netflix, etc are not available under the SA sign up.
I know on the ps3 I did sign up under the SA, but also created a uk username on that same PS3 to get access to GT5 Academy races.
