anyone know of the best place to get PSP games at a reasonable price? also i got a v1.52 firmware which i don't want to upgrade but what's the latest on newer games not running on older firmware?
thanks

latest games run on v2.0 firmware. i get my games from Animeworx at the Brightwater Commons for a reasonable price of R330-360 a pop.

firmware upgrade is a must if you want to play newer games though... :(

thanks man. has the v2.0 firmware been cracked yet to run homebrew apps?

I was just thinking this same thing.
Probably find the newer games only run on firmware x.y, simply as a way to beat the crackers. Sony learnt a lesson from the PS2 exploit, me thinks.

psp games such a rip off here..kalahari wanna charge R480 for GTA...amazon $50. Buy from overseas rather...just not sure how much SARS will rape u tho.

i only buy PSP original games and not rehashes of current console games... you will be amazed at how much cr@p the game companies try to sell you on the PSP if you are not careful!

If you add on shipping, vat and customs you won't save too much. If you want to import games rather use www.take2.co.za for imports it normally works out cheaper if you add on all the additional costs as take2 take scare of vat and ensures sars charges the correct import duty and they obviously do bulk shipping too

I wanna buy I PSP in June, here are my top 10 desired games for the PSP:
----
* Go! Sudoku
* Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
* Lemmings
* Lumines
* Mega Man Powered up
* Mercury
* Mortal Kombat: Deception Unchained
* Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max
* Tony Hawk's Underground 2: Remix
* Worms: Open Warfare

Has anyone played any of these games, how are they ?

from your list i have Lumines and intend on getting Mercury and Worms later on.

Lumines is a blast since i get to compete at who gets the highest score with my wife... she beats me by far till now... :(

Liberty Stories :

I'd been a big fan of the GTA series but Liberty Stories just didn't grasp me, played it for a day or two and now it's collecting dust along with Ridge Racer, Burnout Legends, Medi Evil...

SSX on Tour tho still keeps me amused :D

Everyone has rated Lumines very highly....lol useless you get beaten by a girl!!!!

its part of my master plan to avoid sleeping on the sofa.... ;)

The best place ive found locally is a shop in Alberton City called Console Corner. Their games all go for around R399 each and they always get in the latest titles. Their telephone number is 011 8695817. They also have used titles for R299 and a trade in option with those

digitalplanet.co.za had some reasonable prices.
@lord spaceman: how do you not include Wipeout: Pure in that list :) it's only going for around R200 since it's one of the first games released, but worth every cent even if it were twice the price.

didn't hear too many good reviews, but it sounds like you enjoyed it a lot. Do you recommend it ?

if you into racing games it's a must. the game was judged against the previous wipeout games and didnt fair well against the previous versions hence the bad reviews. but if you look at it as a racing game on its own, there's nothing to touch it at the price. and the soundtrack is a mix of kiff techno music :) digital planet has it for R209, ridge racer as well for the same price - both worth a look

ridge racer gets too repetitive after 2 races... yawn... i want to get rid of this title as i got it mostly due to hype. :(
