Hi guys

With the imminent release of the Playstation Portible and it's much hyped WiFi connectivity, will PSP owners be able to surf the net through their home network in this backwater country ?

it seems so, firmware 2.0 for the PSP allows for internet browsing... you just have to cater for Wi-Fi costs and ISP details... :D

Yip...i can... got a psp with jap version 2.0 firmware...

works like a charm...

Hopefully places like Wimpy's @ Seattle Coffee don't charge for internet access....

Only a foolish mortal will buy a firmware 2.0 psp. You can't get homebrew apps onto it.

I've had a 1.5 for a while now and I can say that without a doubt the console is 999999% better than anything out there because of the homebrew ****.

ye vio, totally, the lowest you wanna go is 1.5, if you can get a 1.0 now you are SOOOO lucky (btw I have a 1.0 :p)

the loaders only work on 1.5 and 1.51 unless you have your own boot file and WAB (some dude i know who made the first loader) are making a downgrader for 1.51 and 1.52 firmware, the 2.0 firmware for the ZA/EU/AUS release is not cool, you cant run any loaders, play mem card games, and no homebrew

its not the games that makes it cool, its the cool hacks and stuff, I have an emu on mine right now and tony hawk which i never paid for as well as crash the film and a wifi dumper.

also there are tunnel apps coming for 1.0 and 1.5 firmware so you can connect to the net through your pc and a wifi card and play multiplayer with people overseas rather than just friends... and its by the same guys who did the ngage tunnel

Man did I mension how cool it is to use homebrew? Any ways its so cool I thought i'd just mention it again.
