Psp update/upgrade/downgrade ?

Hi guys i need help & may just ask some dumb questions.I have my secondhand psp only for a month now & is totally new to the psp thing.I have a slim psp with version 2 on it.My problem at the moment is,it don't play my umd disks anymore.What i wants to know is how to update/upgrade or what ever it is,to play iso games from my memory stick.Please help?

It'll just be easier to either get a phat psp or get someone to do this for you, it's rather complicated with a psp slim

LOL. It stopped playing his genuine PSP games now he has to resort to playing non genuine games off his memory stick.
