PSP vs DS....again

Well, I love my NDSlite..like mentioned quite a few times - it's all about the games. The NDS is a handheld gaming rig, and it's great at that. If you really wanted to you could easily buy one of those flash adapters for it to be able to play movies and mp3s. But I'll use my ipod for that. And I've got my PC if I want games with flashy graphics (not that the NDS graphics are bad at all).

Games I'm waiting for - Final Fantasy and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

I got a Nintendo DS. Normal though, Had aready gotten it by the time the Lite was released. I don't mind though, Its extreamly good regardless.

I currently have Advance Wars: Duel Strike, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and Kirby: Canvas Curse, Brilliant games, all of them.

I have never played on a PSP though. So I'm not at all sure which is better. My friends have though, and say its good. I prefere Nintendo though. (Metroid & Zelda! YaY!)

I reckon a PSP is the way to go. If you have one with the right firmware version you can play flash games, use homebrew applications, use emulators to play all sort of games other than UMD's, watch movies, listen to mp3s and still use it to browse the internet... Can you do half of this on a DS?

Here's a local PSP forum that might have some info for people who are interested : http://www.ground.co.za/

WHat you can do on a DS is play unique fun games that aren't simply rehashes of other console/pc titles.

well with a flash card you can do all of that actually (and opera for internet). But for me, that's not what it's about, I've got other devices that does their job better than the psp would do it. The DS is brilliant at playing great games (unique games at that) - if your main purpose is not to play games, then dont get one.

Edit: and i'm sorry..but i love anything with a touch screen :D it just makes life so much easier

Okay, I got my DS Light last night and I can truly say....WOW! I haven't put the thing down since. I brought Animal Crossing: Wild World, New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 DS along with my DS. NSMB is absolutely amazing and damn addictive.

The touch screen is amazing and one has to see this thing in action to believe it. I can now see why the DS is outselling the PSP 5:1 world-wide (but sadly, the other way around locally). Anyone in two minds about getting the PSP or DS, go DS - you won't be sorry ! I've played both and although the PSP is graphically superior, the games don't even come close to what the NDS has. Also, ask yourself this if you are a current PSP owner, are you going to be happy playing cheap-ass ports of games on your PSP for the rest of your life ?

Now I'm not like the rest of the sheep in SA, all buying n00byfied PSP's. :) Please feel free to PM me if you need more help buying a NDS.
