Yeah thats the thing, we dont know yet..

I'd say go for this one.. Its unlikely that youd have much use for the mic anyways unless u did hectic online gaming with it..

By DVD's do u mean UMD's? The small discs that the games are sold on for the PSP?

So my advice:
Get the PSP, install custom firmware, download ISO games, transfer to memory stick (at least 1GB memory stick is recommended), and play :) easy

It comes with a 1gb memory card but i'm planning on buying 4gb soon. Does it use alot of bandwidth to download ? And when I said dvd i meant dvd, they give it to you on a dvd and then you load it onto the memory card and play it with custom firmware.

Oh that saves u the trouble then..

Does what use alot of bandwidth? Downloading the games?

The games vary in size ... From about 500mb - 1.5GB. You can compress them from .ISO to .CSO using a converter (should be on that site).. I've had 1.5 GB files compressed to 700mb using that tool.

No, i'm wondering about how much bandwidth all the other software, like to get custom firmware, emulators and anything else i would need would use.

Not alot... Unless you want to download a pre made custom firmware of course. Speak to dablamark8 - he's the psp guru

Is there any guide that could tell me all the basics? Which custom firmware ? How much is not alot ?

Well the firmware file you need is only 24mb..

Tutorial there..

* Extract the archive. * Copy included UPDATE folder to X:/PSP/GAME
* Place the official firmware 4.01 update EBOOT , named as 401.PBP, in the newly created UPDATE folder
* Begin installation from the Game menu.

After that , get the latest updates from here - http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/39

Thats the latest custom firmware

After that, you just copy your .ISO's to the /ISO folder on the root of your memory stick (i think its still that way)

Thanks. Hopefully i'll test it all 2moro. So it's junk paying someone to do it for R150 ?

Hahaha well after those short instructions, what do you think?

All it involves is:

Downloading the Custom Firmware Files
Downloading the Official PSP Firmware, renaming it to 401.PBP
Transferring the included UPDATE folder from the Custom Firmware that you downloaded to X:/PSP/GAME along with the 401.PBP file in the same folder.
Beginning installation from the Game menu on the PSP..

No who in their right mind would pay someone R150 to do that!!

Well, you can buy one, watch movies, listen to music and play "free" games

Well technically they wouldn't be free as I don't have enough bandwidth to download them myself so I have to say someone to put it on a dvd for me it.

Well think of it this way.. U can buy the games at R400 a go, or buy a 1GB account for R70 or less and download the game..

To bad i'm stuck on vodacom 3g until next year april (stupid mistake)

@fxit_man, Have you done this upgrade? Does one need a Pandora battery and magic memory stick?

Cheerz
