PSU and degraded performance

I understand FPS drops. I'm not saying anyone should limit graphics card to 60 FPS. I'm simply stating your monitor can't exceed 60 FPS as per my post, for the benefit of others who probably don't know about monitors/Hz/FPS.

Btw kinda hard to engage if you keep editing your posts 10 minutes later, just saying. ;)

Yup i was on my blackberry and left out many words hahah.

So why did you ask me if i had a 100hz monitor? i don't get it? There is a massive difference in performance, regardless whether your monitor can handle the FPS or not the vga can and the game runs much much better for me anyhow. Some people are happy with with 30 FPS so it depends on the person.

H0ll0w my only concern is you seem to be comparing chalk and cheese, your system is different and it will run different, bf 3 will perform differently for every spec computer. Have you set your settings exactly the same as his and have you checked that some of the ati settings at stock are the as the stock nvidia settings? They are slightly different but investigate all avenues before you end up with a 600-700 rand piece of hardware you don't need but then again a good solid PSU is always a win so it won't be a total loss.

IMO if your PSU originally cost you under r600 you should just upgrade it to be on the safe side when you get the opportunity. You can't really get a good quality unit for under 600.
