Currently borrowing & using a Corsair CX750 from a friend, i have a BFG 800w Link power supply which is about 8 years old, probably in use for about 4 of those years although i havent used it after installing my MSI R9 290x since of its 20A split rails, i might be wrong about this but please correct me if i am, from what i know the PCI-Express runs off of one of the 20A rails ? Which from what ive read isnt sufficient enough for the card ?

Been looking at just getting the EVGA G2 750w, Link , about R2k in SA which is quite a price for me but i mean for the extra cash compared to other PSU's it seems worth it looking at the 10 year warranty and gold rating.

Any other PSU's you would recommend ?

Thanks for the reply dude, they both look very similar but missing that 10 year warranty though : D

Efficiency & performance degrade with age, not sure I want a 10yr old PSU when there will probably be something newer, cheaper, more efficient with whatever new connector standard you get 10yrs later.

Yeah true dude, still nice knowing its built to last 10 years but anyway i guess saving R300 and going with the Super flower is probably a better choice anyway, its in anycase the exact same psu ? Another option is the Antec Truepower Classic 750w, can pick it up for R1400, 80 plus gold, has some good reviews but the only problem is its not modular and i guess its time to experience the modular non spaghetti situation in my case for once after like 14 years of using PC's, student budgets though : / Its all GG with this buy.

Go check techpowerups review of this Superflower PSU, it can only hold up for 14ms which is a FAIL according to ATX & Intel's 16 ms recommendation. Bring me a Seasonic please.

Whats this you are referring to?

Why such an expensive PSU ? Get a Corsair or Seasonic 500 watt +

That card does not draw much power.
