psu help!

Curryboy, I'd recommend that you rather avoid the Coolermaster EPP (Extreme Power Plus) & Gigabyte Odin series PSU's.

If you can't afford the PSU, then you shouldn't have bought the expensive CPU & GPU.

Can't you afford the Corsair CX500? It costs less than the Coolermaster EPP 600W. It should be able to power like the GTX560Ti + i7 2600 without an issue.
I would recommend a bigger/better PSU than the CX500 if you would like to run like an i7 2600k @ 4.5GHz and the 560Ti overclocked to its max.

You'll be cutting it a bit thin on the amps. (might not be a problem but to much is always better than to little with PSU's)

For the Nvidia TGX560 you'll need 31Amps
The RP/RS-600-PCAR eXtreme power plus 600w provide 2x12v rails with 18amps on each equaling 36Amps total


Coolermaster RS550-ACAAE3 GX 550 (just a tad more expensive bit still less than R700)
One 12v rail with 44 Amps maximum current

Sorry 31 amps? Sounds bs to me.

CM GX are also kak, well the newer revision(s) are OK.
 
ok cool so a corsair CX600 will do the job? yas i was quite a noob when i built the system dint really think the whole thing through for a 560 ti? it wont be enough for a 570 will it?

CX600 will run the fastest single GPU card on the market.

But as said, better to try get the GS600 as it's marginally more and a lot better.

The EPP 600W is the power supply that I was referring to that failed on me twice. I am actually still waiting for the replacement of the last one after sending it back 2 weeks ago...

I would definitely recommend something else. The CX Series from Corsair will actually be just fine. We try and make you go bigger, because it is better, but in all honestly looking at budget etc I think you will be more than happy with one of those. They are also only about R700, which is a lot cheaper.

I'm on my phone. I read through the entire two pages of your first link. I see nothing about said gfx card needing/using 31A?

Please, can anyone explain to me the purpose of that link? Is general ignorance at an all time low, or is it me being the stupid one? Pray, pray tell.

I must apologise for incorrect info earlier, seems like GSxxx PSUs have gone up. Quite a bit more than the CX600 now.

I didn't go through the first one, because you can't go on a forum's view, because, well.. That's the same info we're asking here...?
The second link from legitreviews states the following though:

"The ASUS GeForce GTX 560 1GB video card requires a 550 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 38 Amps on the +12 volt rail."

Same here, I usually trust PostmanPot when he says what prices and things are like:whistle: and I didn't actually go and make sure myself (With all the increases etc I can't get it off the top of my head anymore).

Alright.

Now what I wonder, is this what Nvidia are saying, or what the actual tests on a decent branded PSU revealed?

Because to be it sounds like this is akin to gfx companies exaggerating amount of power required in order to cover all those people who use poor quality PSUs that lie about their output.

(The first link (forum) covers this concept of exaggerating requirements.)

It says a bit on that it is what Nvidia recommends... Although it says 38Amps and Rock Bottom said 31Amps.. I don't have any 560s lying around here, so I can't tell you what the box itself says though...
