Hi Guys,

My motherboard has a 24pin 'power adapter' on my motherboard, however all the new PSU's seem to have 20pin. What do I do? Can I get an adapter?

Thanks

Most new non cheap PSU's would be 24pin (most likely adaptable to 20pin)...

EDIT: And 20pin PSU connectors do work in 24pin motherboard connectors, might have stability issues, might also not...

Hmmm ... the new PSU's should be 24 pin.
The old PSU's were 20 pin.

Anyway you can plug an old 20-pin PSU cable into a new 24-pin MB - they are compatible and won't blow anything up. The connector can only fit one way.
The extra cables are just to supply extra power so the worst that will happen is your MB doesn't get enough juice and you'll get system hanging, freezing, etc.

There are adapters but don't ask me where you'll find one.

Take a look on the power supply, some of them have a 4 pin adapter you use along with the 20 pin.

Yep :) I had same problem but what Gromitt said, there was a 4 pin connector next to the 20 pin one and you can plug both in to motherboard

Just bought some quick and dirty 380W PSU from Cyberdyne. My PSU decided to die, and I needed one ASAP. ;)

(PSU's are too expensive to import) hahaahahha
