Pretoria - The four members of the Border Police who allegedly shot and killed a Pretoria motorist could have done so out of road rage and to show how powerful they are, a magistrate said on Wednesday.

"The information I have suggests that they are people who should not be outside at all," said the Pretoria Magistrate's Court's Bheki Ntshingila at the bail hearing of the four Pretoria-based officers.

Captain Rosina Mabena, Sergeant Lillian Tlhapi, Sergeant Jacobeth Ngobeni and Warrant Officer Enoch Makgamatha earlier made submissions that the State's case against them was weak and that they intended to plead not guilty.

They also submitted that they be granted bail because they were not a danger to society or flight risks.

However Ntshingila questioned how the State's case was weak when one of the accused willingly gave police information about the killing of 23-year-old Nkosinathi Ntuli on Monday.

Senior investigating officer at the Independent Complaints Directorate, Mandlakayise Mahlangu, told the court that Makgamatha, Ngobeni and Tlhapi opened fire at Ntuli's car, with one of the shots killing him.

It also came to light that the three were using two guns - Ngobeni's and Makgamatha's. Tlhapi and Ngobeni alternated between one gun when it jammed.

:wtf: There seems to be more of this happening or just more is actually being reported. Either way it someone needs to sort these fsckers out!

Bail was denied.. Justice is served
a bit quick not, Justice will only be served when the trial are concluded and they all got at least 10years without parole options. I hope?

They apparently are members of the VIP squad! Again!

No I feel it is time the Police take back the respect they are due. Yes, you do get some idiot fools in the Police and this is what happens when you employ them. But if you need to use force to drive the mesage across then so be it. I know the exact corner where that guy was shot. It's just above Marabastad. There is a place there called Malas Tyres. Did he deserve to be shot and killed? No. Did he deserve to even have the crap kicked out of him? Maybe. Should they have warned/arrested him? Yes.

It might sound like bad news, but it's starting to paint a picture that the police aint taking no more shyt. They will be jailed, and a kid is killed. But the legacy stays. If he didn't drive up the one way he wouldn't have been dead, be it wrong or right ;)

Yeah I also know where it is and you can put as many "winking faces" as you like it's still fscking completely wrong. Maybe he was confused/maybe he was being an ass but either way this is IN NO WAY even nearly condonable.

And using force to get the message across...? There are instances where that may be applicable but ffs do you honestly believe this is one of them...? Think man, think!

Only one wink.

And it sounds like you need some of those Police brutality to give them some respect. It baffles me why they have to go to these extremes for respect, but I guess your post summed it up nicely :)

That's some class A ignorance shining through there Pitbull. To say it's ok for these events to happen coz the police are getting tough is beyond insane. Go live in a police state elsewhere, we don't need one here. It's unacceptable to condone these things and then to suggest that Zenbaas maybe "needs some police brutality' to make him respect these thugs ....... ja, words escape the idiocy of that post.

We wheren't there. Period.

I for one will not piss off 4 guys with guns. Those who shot him are idiots as I said. But what is done is done, if you have a guy or 4 standing somewhere with guns and you try and piss them off you pretty much get what you ask for....

No need to then run to your mommy and cry

Did he even know that:
1-They were cops.
2-They were armed.
3-They were PO at him

Using excessive, out off control force (2 guns & 3 shooters) on a 'suspect' that could in no way demonstrate aggression is no way to gain respect. And there is a big difference between fearing a bully and respecting an authority. They don't seem to be that good at tackling the real bad guys or controlling real crime given the current stats. I have recently made a point of carefully looking at police (Metro & National) officials and it is obvious that they are extremely healthy and excessively well fed. I understand why they rather shoot - most of them are too fat to run - never mind earning respect.

So 4 or 3 police officers just open all guns blazing at a dude for no reason knowing that they would face life in jail?

Just curious :o

OMF are you serious...? It seems all reason has left you. The pure stupidity of your comment amazes me. You just pulled a Malema :)

So now it comes down to not pissing off guys with guns...? Cops nogal. So nevermind about the law or anything else hey, just pissing off people with guns who are suppose to "uphold" the law might get you killed for no good reason. I feel sorry for the good cops who get a bad rep due to retards that seems to have infiltrated the police service.
Johannesburg - Four policemen have been arrested for allegedly shooting dead a motorist in Pretoria central on Monday, the Independent Complaints Directorate said.

Nkosinathi Ntuli, 23, of Doornpoort was allegedly driving his Toyota RunX on the wrong side of the road on the corner of Boom and Cowie streets, when he was shot dead, spokesperson Moses Dlamini said.

Dlamini said the officers - a captain, two sergeants and a warrant officer - were arrested because nothing on the scene indicated that their lives had been in danger and that the shooting was warranted.

When the incident happened the officers were driving an unmarked vehicle and the driver was not in police uniform.

The other three officers were in uniform.

They were expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

 Yeah, they sure were upholding the law hey.

Grow a pair and learn some respect. That way you will be fine and have no reason to fear anyone, not even the police .....

And next time you skip a red light or speed on the hi-way you may just as well duck since the police are enforcing respect!
So if you get shot next time you speed, tough luck, the police needed to make an example out of someone.

As per the old saying - there is no medicine for stupidity and arrogance.

A close friend of mine recently surprised a burglar in his home office and was attacked and wounded by the same before he could shoot him dead. He wasn't arrested, his firearm wasn't even confiscated and there is no issue about the situation BECAUSE it was a clear case of a criminal attacking with a deadly weapon trying to kill his intended victim. Simple self defense.

These were FOUR police officers using TWO guns to kill an unarmed man. They were IMMEDIATELY arrested by OTHER policemen and the magistrate felt that this was clearly so extreme that they don't even get bail AND he says they should not be allowed in public. Do you feel that the other policemen and the magistrate are also demonstrating lack of respect and ignorance?

No seriously Pittbull - I'm all for taking criminals off the street but what these guys did seems completely out of proportion to the situation.
And just one last thing - it's not difficult to get confused at night with one way streets in an unfamiliar city.

Agree with you.

As I have said before, wave around a gun and shoot at or threaten cops with guns, then expect what comes your way. BUT in this case there was no threat so the shooting was totally unjustified.

Jail time.

Well the porkers want to live up to their name.

Its well known that the SA police do not have people skills or PR skills. Watch them on TV next time. Its " . . . ah . . . uhm . . . ag! eerrr! . . . uhm!

So I'm not surprised they adopted the attitude of shoot first.
