Just saw some full title home owners in my street got notified the city is converting all homes to prepaid. . Some was done today

My view it is. My bill for the last 15 years is R0. So why pay now more. Its the same as post and prepaid cellphones!

That admin fee is just a killer!

The middle man selling is taking a cut. Been like that for years. I am just against paying more for something that could cost less

With every topup, the provider takes an admin fee % of the buying value

Not as far as I know. Read up ... the tariffs differ

After getting a 50k billing error that took 2 years to get sorted (new meter was installed before i moved in, but CoT never bothered to update their system until ONE DAY), I will gladly be the master of my own destiny with a prepaid meter, thanks. Apparently they are going from house to house to install.

I wouldn't mind CoJ/City Power moving us to prepaid, it would save me doing it myself and I would probably halve my electricity bill.
