The only interesting talks I've managed to find regularly are those at the Observatory (in Observatory CPT):

UCT open lectures list is usually quite dismal and mostly quite boring looking topics (tax, welfare etc.), though I see there is a talk called Are We Alone which might be interesting.

I'm open to any kind of topic really, but there just seem to be so few available. Are there any other sites that list / track this kind of thing? Any other places that regularly host interesting talks?

“The theory of relativity”

One century ago, Albert Einstein proposed a theory which unified the concepts of space, time, and gravity. Besides being surely the most aesthetic construction in the whole history of physics, the theory of relativity remains unchallenged in its performance to explain the natural phenomena it deals with, from the Big Bang to the Solar System, from black holes to gravitational waves. In this outreach talk, Dr. Fleury will propose an introduction to the main concepts of relativity, which he will make as accessible and entertaining as possible.
