So when was the last time you used public transport?
I
I used a taxi this morning AND. I'm alive people, ALIVE :)

This morning and the driver got arrested, because he drove through a red light. Then we had to wait for another one to pick us up. On our way we saw a taxi accident iin woodstock.

Daily. Sometimes taxi, sometimes train.

No car at the moment and it actually works out a lot cheaper. Especially with the train

In SA: Primary school.
Outside of SA: several times a year every year.

2 years ago METRO RAIL Muizenberg - Cape Town for 2 months. I must admit it was actually damn good. The train was late once but I still got to the office on time. :p

Taxi's like 15 years ago and even then it sucked lemons

The last time was in Scotland and that was in 2001.

Good!!! I will rather walk than drive in those death traps!!

I use the train in Cpt to get virtually everywhere (work, Waterfront, town during the day on weekends). If I go out at night I will sometimes pay for a metered cab, even though they are flipping expensive.

I used a taxi in Cpt once. When the guy decided to REVERSE up Main Rd in traffic to pick up a fare, I decided that I was done.

Rather get a scooter, much cheaper than public transport or a car.

Until you end up in an accident and end up dead, or having to pay medical bills. A friend of mine used to ride a bicycle. Finally saved up enough to buy a motorbike, and used it for a month. Then one day a taxi tried to overtake another car and cut into his lane, knocking him off the bike. Luckily he's alive but he ended up with many broken bones, and the bike was a complete write off. I was seriously thinking of getting a bike until this happened. Almost all my friends who own bikes/scooters have ended up in accidents of some kind. usually because people don't pay attention for bikes on the road.

I use it daily. With a car my weekly petrol was R200 (excluding weekends), I'm using R100 weekly now with taxis.

November 2010, I used the bus daily for my first 2 years of university before I got a car.

From my experience most people who land up dead on scooters or motorbikes ride them like idiots. If you ride defensively South Africa is no more dangerous for motorcyclists than any other country.

Used the train in CT from Brackenfel and back. World cup and all that you know... Spain Portugal, can still remember it well as it was my sons first train trip.

from belville to town ...stay belville south so its a 15 min walk to station
Huh? Tha's quite a distance, isn't it? I'm assuming you walk along Modderdam Road.

For me its from Kuilsriver to Bellville - a 5 minute ride, then I take a walk to the Cybernest Building in Durban road (where I work)
