Good day guys, before joining the 'pump and dump' group please understand what they are doing and how they function before considering it.
The way I understand it and the reason why you will never make any real money joining a pump and dump is because they are basically hyping up the coin price only to 'dump' sell at the top leaving you holding a coin that is now 30 min later 50% less in market price.
Recipe for a pump and dump group, make sure you have a big following on a instant text service like Telegram, now you and a few of the inner cycle buy a coin that is nice and low, you buy the bottom, you make sure that everyone knows that at a specific time you will release this super coin that will up their profit with 400%, at the time you release the coins name you and a few of the member start hyping the coin on other channels and platforms (think they call it shilling), now as momentum and fomo sets in the coin price jumps quickly, you and the inner circle sell your share as soon as you have a nice pot and keep hyping and telling the people to keep holding... if the inner circle has cashed out you tell the people to sell...
So you are basically hyping the coin to sell when you have duped everyone into thinking they will buy a lambo after the pump (not sure why a lambo but lambo is always in the chatrooms)... If you as a participant time is nicely you could make a few $ but the timing is almost impossible.
Have I tried it? No... Okay maybe... Have I made anything... Maybe... okay no I have not

I tried it and to be perfectly honest it's a waste of time and you are more likely to lose on it.
In the 3 pumps I participated in I was already catching the downtrend and this was not even 10s after receiving notification of the coin. It is seriously fast moving and you can easily get caught up as there is really no time to think and analyze due to the very fast paced nature.

I've monitored the groups for a while to watch how they work, and most of the time you can see quite a bit of activity before the pump is announced, which is usually the people organizing it , buying up nice and cheap and then letting the group ride it up.

The group admins need us "canon fodder" to drive their prices up. Amazingly when they announced "dump" it was already happening so a few people coined a LOT and the rest barely anything - if not lost.
Guess which "few" people amazingly always got the major apex of the pump...
Its a scam.

Well unlike shares it's not illegal per se, but I'd venture that it is definitely borderline immorally.
Broadly speaking in a pump & dump it's a zero sum game, meaning that your gain comes at the cost of someone's loss (when it inevitably crashes back down to it's "true" unmanipulated value). A coordinated (and collusive) effort to bring that about...yeah...pretty fu.cking shady.
