Hi,

I have some funds on Paypal.

Instead of withdrawing into FNB, is there any way to buy bitcoin directly from Paypal?

How reliable are the companies that agree for one to pay for Bitcoin via PayPal?

Simple answer is no. Complicated answer is yes but it’s a process.

1. Create a Wise Account if you don’t have one already : https://tinyurl.com/XxSurll

2. Link your US Bank details from Wise to your PayPal (takes 1 day)

3. Move your USD to Wise

4. Trade P2P on Binance using Wise ( You send seller funds on Wise and they send you USDT)

it's quite a convenient option, but it tends to disappear once providers figure out the risks and complexities of offering it ... like eToro, used it a few times there, then had to close the account as they took the paypal option away

EDIT: seems Paypal is not an option for me on Kraken

Have had similar issues. Method I posted above has worked for 5+ years since it’s Wise to Wise and you don’t mention crypto. Binance holds funds in Escrow while the transaction takes place and support is decent. Haven’t had an issue

if Wise ever make their debit card available to South Africans it'll open up many more options
