Hey everyone,

Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I just purchased a music album from the Apple iTunes Store for R119.99. I got an sms alert from my bank to say that my account was just debited with R184.69.

I emailed iTunes and they gave me some story about in-app purchases which is a load of rubbish since I know I purchased a single album.

I am trying to see what they say but wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this and if so they got it fixed or not?

Thanks

Did the reply come from India, apples support has so far sucked on my previous queries.

Never had that before but I only use vouchers.

The best would be to check the invoice they'll send you in a day or two; it'll confirm what is included that debit, if you still don't agree then you have an invoice on which to base your claim.

You can log into your account via iTunes and see what purchases have been made. There is a dispute link there for each charge as well.

Are you on the local store?

EDIT: Doh, sorry missed the ZA :P

US store adds TAX on top of the purchase price.. Maybe its the same for the SA store, that will explain the amount.

Not really... Would take the price to R136 not R184.
Haven't bought in the SA Store for a while but as I recall, paid the face value as advertised in the store. OP, did you make any in-app purchases?

The difference is that the invoice ties up directly with an EFT, hence he'll know what was included in the suspect debit.

EDIT: never-mind I see that by viewing your account you can gain access to the actual orders / invoiced amounts which tie up with the EFT.

A little off topic.I have made a made a claim from the US store a long time back I purchased a iphone app instead of an ipad HD version of an app they processed the claim and gave me a refund within 24 hours after making the claim.

You're courageous. The Bangalore dude who dealt with your query could have spotted that you had a US account. It's unlikely I know, but you never know.
