Purchasing laptops directly from Dell

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a M15x Alienware laptop. Yes, I have money to blow. Just wondering if it's possible to purchase it directly from the Dell website which seems substantially cheaper than South African online stores which probably import it from there anyway. Is there any way to go about this? They don't seem to ship to South Africa, but is there some way to set this up? Any tips will be appreciated.

I've tried to customise and buy a Dell Studio 17'' from Dell SA's online shop, but when I click on choose and customize, I just get a black screen. Think you must use a reseller in SA, they dont sell directly to the public in SA. :(

SO....I go to www.dell.com, configure my dream machine online and then dream I was living in the US of A. :)
 
Hang on....copied directly from Dell SA's web site : Buy Online or Call 0860 102 575.....so there must be a way to buy it directly from them?

I've used Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 to try and configure a notebook online, but just a black screen. I give up.

Strange I built a custom machine on dell.co.za (which redirects to their EU site) last week sometime without issues (final amount was in ZAR). Give them a call anyway because a friend of mine went the online route in the past where he speced things out on the site and then called in to place his order and ended up getting a better deal. Otherwise PC Direct is your other option if they can custom build.
 
I bought my first Dell Machine directlty from them but the second I had to go through a reseller.. they seem to have changed their policy in south africa
 
Thanks for the replies guys. I know it is possible to buy directly from the SA-Dell store, but sadly they don't sell the laptop I wish to buy on the SA store. They sell it on the Canadian, American Dell stores. I was wondering if there was a way to get around this.
