PV Panels Installation Job

Quick one.

I currently have 8KW Sunysk Inverter paired with x2 Hubble Batteries installed.

My Installer has quoted me as follows for PV Job:

Canadian solar panels 455w super high power mono (qty 16) @ R3700 each = R59,200.00
PV panel roof mounting kit for IBR, Kilp Lock Roof (qty not specified) @ R8,500.00
Solar combiner box complete (qty 1) @ R5200.00
Labor @ R14,000

Is pricing fair? Where can I reduce if possible ? Thanks

Why the solar combiner box, is this for surge protection and fuses? Both strings will be tied to their own MPPT. Clarify what is included.

You are installing 7.2KW of panels, how much do you use per day? Your inverter can take 10.4KW max, once you commit to those panels it cannot be upgraded. It might be total overkill or it might not get you through an overcast day.

You should get another quote to compare apples with apples. Also take into account that different areas will charge different prices? Where is this?

I recently added 10x JA Solar 455W panels to my exisitng inverter, also needed combiner box, mounting brackets, labour etc so similar as the OP's post. My total installation was R44000

Jeez how long ago was this x10 panels + labor and materials for R44K ? Who did the installation if I may ask and your area?

I have a box full of around 44 klip lock roof mountings that Steve sent me in error. He then sent me the correct klip lock mountings. He still has not arranged for it to be collected. Must remind him.

If you are paying that much for panels at least get the R540W for R3849 (incl) They are in midrand, bought from them in the past. PVStore nicely wrapped them with plastic to protect them. It will give you another 700W for the same price and it will work nicely on you 8KW inverter
