Intermediate full stack developer (Python) – Cape Town / Johannesburg

Position Type: Full Time
Location: Cape Town / Johannesburg
Offer: 500-540k dependent on experience and technical competency
The ideal candidate will be a highly productive and motivated individual, proficient in a range of appropriate technologies and with a demonstrable track record at completing projects, and familiarity using Google App Engine(GAE).
Technological knowledge and ability should ideally include, but is not limited to: Python, PHP, CSS, javascript, git, test-driven-development methodologies, XML, XHTML, XSLT, and XPATH.
Above all you will need to be keen to work in a team to contribute to the achievement of our goals and aspirations but also have the ability to work independently.
This role will be based in Cape Town for the first 6 months within the employ. The role will then move to Johannesburg thereafter.
Qualifications required:
Preferred
• BSc (IT/Computer Science/Informatics);
• BTech; ND Information Technology
• Certification(s): Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Qualified Developer
Else
• other suitable Python or related IT development qualification
Experience: 3+ years
Skills required:
Compulsory
• Python
• php
• CSS & HTML
• MySql
• Solid Object orientated programming (OOP) principles
• XML
• Web services
• Javascript framework
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial or SVN
Role
• Strong software development experience in many of the following technologies: Python, php, SQL, JavaScript, UNIX, Linux, XML, JSON, Web Services, MySQL, NoSQL, Google cloud technologies
• Should have strong working experience in at least one of the cloud platforms like Google (preferred), Amazon etc.
• Experienced in roles conducting requirements gathering, design, and hands-on development
• Experienced with large scale, cutting edge cloud application development
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to develop cutting edge solutions
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Agile software development and SCRUM
• Ability to work under pressure and manage client expectations effectively
