Hi Guys, has anybody tried to apply for a Qatar Transit visa?

It's kind of frustrating as they're requesting a clear scanned copy of the passport which I've provided but according to them not clear enough.

No contact details only an email address where no response seems forthcoming.

I've also tried the local Cape Town office but they're no help either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You don't need a transit visa if you're flying Qatar Airways and transiting at Hamad airport. If your wait between flights is 8 hours+ then they will probably organise you a free hotel, but you can only use their transport and can't leave the hotel to do what you want.

The Free Transit Visa allows you to leave the airport as my layover is 21 hours.

"You can now enjoy the new Transit Visa free of cost when you add a short transit or stopover between five and 96 hours in Doha to your itinerary without any additional fare charges."

Ok. My wait was about 10 hours and I was taken to and back from the hotel. You better send them a higher resolution full colour scan of your passport then. Qatar is insanely strict about everything.

That's the problem max upload size is 512 kb and I've taken the clearest copy possible.

Seems the process is flawed

Ask someone who has photoshop to resize a high res pic and get the jpeg compression just right for that size.

Sorted, called a friend who works for the airline who then gave me a contact.

Apparently this system isn't vetted by anybody until you request them to do so.

What a schlep!

Post the contact details to help anyone here with the same problem in the future. MyBB forum posts are listed pretty high on google posts.
