QNAP 420U as a VMware DataStore

I need to set up Security Camera Server with HD recording.

So i'm thinking of buying a Qnap 420U , its got 4 HDD bays, and i will populate all them with 3TB Drives.
I dont have any plans for the raid config yet,

I want to use a VMWare Server and attach the Qnap as a Datastore. I have an old unused HP server its a 16Core XEON with 10GB ram,

5 Days worth of recording is about 1.8TB, some cameras are recording at HD permanently and some are recording when there is motion. I currently have 4 Cameras, and im planning to add another 6 Cameras.

My Concern is the bandwith between the Vmware Server and the NAS device, cus it only has 2 network Ports.

Hi your bandwidth should be fine with your current setup.
Adding 6 new cameras with HD , I wil recommend adding 6 TB to your QNAP.
The network will also be fine with the new 6 Cameras but what Camera software is recording and handling the traffic?

In total it will have 12TB cus its got 4 Bays and each bay will have 3TB.

Not sure what Package yet were are still deciding between 2 companies which will be promoting the cameras with,
I dont know if there are any embargo info related to these cameras, so id rather not mention the brand.

The company i work for and who also manufactures these cameras now enters the security camera market in SA,

Welcome to the SA market lol XD... but you should not have any bandwidth problem from the QNAP side and if you do there are always one or 2 tricks to speed it up .
