Does anyone know of a store in the Joburg area with the 27" Quad Core iMac in stock? I know there's a global shortage of them at the moment but I'm hoping there's one hiding out there somewhere!

Hackintosh maybe ?

Been running Mac OSX on a Hackintosh Quad Core Intel PC four months ago and it runs really well. BUT.....we all know why Intel shifted to the iCore CPUs. The Quad Cores all have a fundamental flaw.

I wouldn't waste money on a quad core config. It has already been canned by Intel.

What flaw is that?

Anyone know where to get the i7 model? Seems only the base (i5) units are available.

Nice! If you don't mind me asking, what's the price on the i7?

It was R25,650, so R2,650 more than the i5. In the US of course its a $200 difference but I have now resigned myself to being ripped off by Core.

Extremely happy. The display is magnificent, it makes my 23" Cinema Display look very ordinary in comparison. The computer runs as quietly as a mouse with fan noise only audible when the CPU is pushed hard with some handbrake encodes. The encoding was super fast too. Highly recommended!
