I posted this already but this is so cool I have to post it again. No some junk mod from some 3rd rate California company - this time Mitsubishi comes up with an Full Quad HD 56 inch LCD monster. The panel technology is Super MVA which means true 8bits of colour or higher.

Imaging Technology 56" Quad LCD Monitor
Brightness 500 cd/m²
Native Resolution 3840 x 2160
Maximum Resolution 3840 x 2160
Viewable Size 56" Viewable
Contrast Ratio 1200 : 1
Response Time 12ms (typ) [GTG: 8 6.5ms (typ)]
Backlight 50,000 hours

Response of 12ms and GTG or 6.5 should still be OK for games.

The only issue is what would power it?

Sending information to this widescreen LCD monitor requires only a computer or display wall processor capable of four 1920x1080 high resolution output channels.

Why would someone want a monitor that big? Imagine sitting 1m from a screen that size, you would strain your neck looking around just to read a forum.

I guess some people buy Ferrari's, others buy 56" monitors. (Making up for somewhere that they may be lacking)

That's such an outdated statement. People buy Ferrari's because they can afford them. If someone decides to buy something that you cannot afford then chillout dude, stop whinning. :D

Lol, Bud I'm not whinnig, just cant see any possible scenario where such a huge monitor would be usefull, unless for some reason your desk was 3 meters deep, so you needed something big enough that you still see it at such a distance. I'd certainly buy it if I needed a new tv, but imagine sitting 1/2 a meter from such a beast??

I think a screen like that would be useful for testing out multi gpu systems at that resolution it should make good use of sli or crossfire.

It will be awesome to the max. Vast acres of pixels, encompassing your entire visual field ... drool ...

Heaven forbid someone like EA games buys it to run competitions on or similar.

O ye of small mind...
