quake 4?

ok just got my xbox today and had to get GOW to see what all the noise was about - so ok 6 hours in the game and I figured out I need to climb over the wall in the prison to move on......but yeh, cool game, have to stop now my fingers have lost feeling.
so basically i was also going to get quake4 as it was only R300 compared to GOW R500 - but is there any point in getting quake 4? is it not too similar to GOW but not in the same league...
 
I wouldn't get Quake 4. It's just a port straight from PC. Rather get a 360 exclusive title like Crackdown or something.
 
Yeah, I'll agree with BC. Quake 4 was also a very bad early port, apparently there are serious performance issues with it. If you want a shooter rather try get GRAW (highly recommended), Prey or Perfect Dark, in the budget shooter titles, otherwise there's no greater racing game than Burnout Revenge ;)
 
QIV not in the same league as GoW. QIV is a last generation title (uses the DOOM 3 engine) and is a FPS. GoW isn't really a FPS, it's more a TPS (third person shooter).

It's at a good price and you should go for it if you like FPS, never played it (or any other Quake titles), looking for some quick achievements and not looking to spend much for a game.

Comparing Gears of War to Quake 4 is like comparing oranges to lemons. Both are good, when eaten at appropriate times.
