I see that the local server has shutdown. Anyone know the reason for this?

Damn that sucks, I played a few months back. Then started it up again last night and noticed servers are down.

Yeah its very disappointing, i enjoy playing qc. At one point it was gaining traction in za when they made it free to play for the first time then the playerbase just seemed to die off. Everyone has switched back to quake live.

Agreed. Such BS. Really enjoyed the game, even bought the champions pack and then they pulled the plug on our datacenter. Really gutted.

Did this game do really badly? Or just poorly in SA?
It seems like this got released with very little fanfare - I play a little but I think the flick-shot quake gaming era is over for me. I'm too frikken old to hit anything!

I'd say our community is just way too small, hence the reason why the removed our local server. However, there is a plan in the works to get a local server back online again. So, hold thumbs, it might not be over just yet for QC in SA
