id software/Bethesda did support South Africa with dedicated servers for Quake Live, so they probably will at some point, but my guess is only IF there are enough players/interest.

Don't get your hopes up.

DOOM also makes use of the same server infrastructure as that of Quake Champions and they didn't support SA with that. So chances are slim to none for them to provide anything for SA with regards to QC.

i did my part played one round said the latency of 160ms reported it as a bug lololol :)
honestly though if you are playing a FPS game you need a lower latency i tended to stay away from a FPS game with a latency of >60ms.

other than that game is really fun graphics are really good with really decent optimisation. another issue i have though is I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER DRM APPLICATION!!!!

A little bit of necro post, but for those of you that don't know QC does have a data center in Johannesburg. Just a pity that the game doesn't get a lot of exposure locally.

The game is now free-to-play since Quakecon the past weekend, so there is no reason why anyone shouldn't check out the game ;)

There is a local site: http://quakechamps.co.za/how-to-find-other-players/ with links to Discord channels etc to find other locals :)
