So with the public testing going live tomorrow - WAT A BLOODY WASTE OF TIME..

Im slightly angered by this game to say the least. Been doing some reading, and im sure a bunch of you were excited as I am about it, but there doesnt seem to be any other servers than the one that will run in the US. So as South Africans we lose out completely from enjoying this. Creating games and connecting to them wont involve peering, so latency is shocking, recorded at around 400ms... What a joke and a waste of time...

I urinate on this title ID - ur biggest Q3 fan is now a very dissapointed fan...

Once the game is released, won't we be able to get an SA server?

I.D will be making their money primarily from advertising which is being done by IGA. So it'll all depend on how IGA views our market.

Also whichever ISP they partner with will have to sign several contacts and service level agreements. I don't see a local one being able to commit these resources just for our small player-base.

At the moment GNi is hosting the Quake Live infrastructure, and they're pretty massive - but don't have a presence here.

yup sad thing is we wont be seen as a market that must be reached. and if we are there will only be a handful of players that will use it, due to our limited numbers etc. International players wont be able to connect to us and visa versa, in essense making the whole thing redundent as QuakeLive is meant to be for people across multiple nationalities and locations... Maybe in the US and europe this type of structure may work, but not for Africa or even possibly Australia...
