The Queen Mary II dropped anchor at Table Bay Harbour in Cape Town on Tuesday.

Regarded as one of the most luxurious cruise liners, it is also the largest passenger ship to enter Cape Town's waters.

Shipping columnist Brian Ingpen said harbour officials are going to have a tough time in processing the almost 2,000 passengers who may want to visit dry land.

I saw it on the way to work - sucks that the cruise liners now need park in the main harbour not at the V&A as they used to.

The Department's Director of Immigration for the Western Cape ruled that passenger liners will no longer be allowed to dock in the V&A Waterfront. With immediate effect, all passenger liners are to dock in the secured Duncan Dock.

I saw it while crossing the Buitengracht Street foot bridge and wanted to take a photo (I even had my camera with me!) but there were one too many suspicious looking people loitering around :erm:
