Query re ADSL speed at 2 locations and different ISPS. Help

Hi,

I have a 512 ADSL connection at home with MWEB as the supplier.
I have a 1024 ADSL connection at work with Telkom Internet.

Question :

If I change the settings on the modem/router at home to indicate that it must use Telkom setting will I get 1024 at home, or does TELKOM have to change something on exchange for me to increase ADSL speed at home (DSLAM or whatever) ? IE if I log on using office settings will I get same line speed or not?

Dont think so... I think the line at home has to have 1mps enabled by Telkom.

You can connect i imagine to Telkom ISP at home with work settings. However you will still be at 512.
