yup....just let her keep her 56k dialup account...
certain isps give u the ability to use your ADSL username/password for 56k dialup - just verify

It's a bit pointless don't you think? Get a router, not a modem, all ISP's including telscum give routers, then use a normal network cable and connect your mom and your pc to the router, or use Wireless LAN, whichever you prefer.
