We had a 3G contract with a 1G allowance, but by the middle of each month, I would already have reached the limit and we'd then have to continue at their exorbitant rates.

We upgraded to a 2G allowance, it is the 15th today and I already got an SMS saying we have reached 80% of our allowed usage.

Surely this is not possible! I have used more than I normally do in the first half of the month.

The upgrade seems like it was no more than a moneymaking scheme to me. How is this possible?:mad::mad:

blu, its the same as when you receive an increase, you raise your cost of living up exponentially, the same with bandwidth.

blu, download a monitor, like netmeter.

then all you do is watch it like a hawk, or an eagle scout.

Well.my GF has a 150mb bundle, that was used up in 3 days. That was just cruising around net looking for flights. Then the Vodacom Usage Monitor said there was plenty left all the way till the end of the month. We carried on using it until the Monitor reported 154megs used, so we stopped.

Come month end, the bill arrives, and we had used close to 500megs! I know there is a disclaimer that the Usage Monitor is not that accurate, but COME ON! For it to be so inaccurate is not cool.

Def. smacks of some kind of data usage fixing...

Keeper is on to something, get netlimiter 2 free version and monitor what is sending data out. But 9 times out of 10 (seeing as you haven't reached your cap yet) its because you "do more" on the internet as you now have a cushion of 1gb
