Alright so my mom is off to China this Wednesday and as offered to buy me something during her time there. I want to get a new gaming keyboard or mouse but don't know which of the two to get and what model?
I currently have a standard generic multimedia keyboard and some genius mouse. I am a fan of the Razer Arctosa (keyboard) or DeathAdder (mouse). I love razer and they fit the price range my mom is prepared to pay/spend. So, mouse or keyboard and what kind? I mainly play FPS and RTS.

I have the microsoft sidewinder x4 which I've grown to enjoy. Only prob is I tend to get the macro bank select key instead of ESC all the time.
(my mouse is a microsoft wireless something, I bought purely because its wireless, not because its any good. I play mostly MMORPGs so I type alot, mouse accuracy isnt that important to me, aslong as I can click my overview or in the general direction I want to travel.)

Razer arctosa is a nice keyboard, I dont think it can be faulted. Its got what any gamming keyboard should have; macro keys and anti ghosting.

If you love the style and look, then thats what counts. IMO
As for new mouse or new keyboard... I would go for keyboard first. It makes a huge difference to your comfort and while gaming or working. Aswell as being an great astetic peice.

But since your play style is mostly mouse dependant you might be better off getting a decent mouse first. I cant help you there, as to me what makes the perfect mouse is all about feel. ~your mouse chooses you~ :) Something you can relax your hand flat on with your fingers streched out without scrunching is most important so you dont take strain.

I like the Deathadder you mentioned, mostly because, is it doesnt look as Fat and bulky as most other "gaming mice", but long enough to relax on. I absolutly hate mice that u could imagine using as a rock to kill somone with if u ran out of ammo. Pitty its not wireless. (of course many will argue that wireless is bad for gamming, But I get frustrated when the cable hooks on something or gets in my way)

You cannot go wrong with a DeathAdder ..... I've had mine for a few months now and it does make a difference. Likewise, I recently got the Lycosa keyboard and after a few days getting used to it, I can't believe I sat with a generic piece of rubbish so long. And at the end of the day, after being such useful products, they look damn good too :)

haha Wabbit you live in grahamstown ?
@ashTZA: I agree that keyboards are visually very appealing and make a noticeable difference to a rig setup:)
I'm thinking I'll just be happy with what I get but I'm gonna hint at the Lycosa to my mom for a keyboard and the deathadder for mouse and let her decide:)
thanks guys
