Hey guys

I have a 32" led widescreen tv.Whenever i get movies they have a black bar on the top and bottom of the screen.
I want movies that are 720 or 1080p but fill the screen completely. What formats/size's should i be looking for?

The movies needs to be in an aspect ratio of 1.78 or 1.85:1 to fill the screen completely. 2.35:1 which is the normal widescreen standard will still have black bars on the top and bottom no matter what you do, unless you use a projector and masking curtains. Some movies in 1.78:1 include The Avengers, Avatar, most tv series shot in HD etc.

You will never be able to get rid of them completely, because not all movies are filmed in the same format.
Some of them are filmed wider than others.
Those movies will always present with black bars on the top and bottom.
Get used to it.
